Automated logistics and Balsamic Vinegar pallets storage
In the province of Modena, historic production area of the precious balsamic vinegar, with the same care and continuous research, with high technological standards, with attention to sustainability and great ability to adapt to demands of the international market, a few kilometers from each other, Trascar and Acetum are present.
Both are originally from this area and have always dedicated themselves to two of the activities that characterize them so much, automation and balsamic vinegar. Tradition and technology that meet together in the automatic handling, storage and preparation for shipment of balsamic vinegar packages pallets system. The automatic system picks up pallets from production lines using linear transport systems and automatic LGV shuttles and it conveys them to a control and label reading point, completing the process with datas acquisition and transmission to the management system.
By using a battery-powered shuttle pallets are transferred from the production to the storage and shipping department, making a 120-meters course; from here they are sent to the automatic warehouse with stacker crane and stored in multi-depth with automatic shuttles.
The 70m long and 15m high warehouse has 368 channels where it is possible to store up to 7 pallets in depth for a total of little bit of 2500 pallet positions. The warehouse is served by a double-column stacker crane with double satellite on board that moves 35 pallets in a combined cycle.
From the warehouse, one automatic shuttle conveys pallets to the gravity shelving, which is also served by a second 8 m high stacker crane which feeds various channels based on the order/ shipment. The Trascar’s WMS system, in addition to pallet management from handling to storage and shipping, is completed with quality control, picking and management of raw materials, stored in a static warehouse close to the automatic one.
