Beauty Automation: Trascar’s Innovation for IdeaBellezza

Founded in 1994 under the leadership of Gargiulo & Maiello S.p.A., a company with over 50 years of history, IdeaBellezza has established itself as a cornerstone in Italy’s perfume and beauty retail market. With three decades of experience, the brand stands out for its extensive product range, professional expertise, and a network of customer-focused services that define each store.

Today, IdeaBellezza boasts a network of over 90 stores across Italy, with ambitious plans to expand to 100 locations within the next five years, aiming for comprehensive nationwide coverage. Each store spans between 100 and 250 square meters, offering customers a selection of more than 20,000 products, including perfumes, makeup, and cosmetics.

In 2013, capitalizing on the success of its physical stores, the company launched IdeaBellezza.it, aspiring to become a leading online beauty destination in Italy. With competitive pricing, excellent pre- and post-sale customer service, and a commitment to quality, the brand continues to enhance the shopping experience for beauty enthusiasts nationwide.

The Beauty of a Long-Standing Partnership: IdeaBellezza and Trascar

Behind the remarkable entrepreneurial success of IdeaBellezza lies a constantly evolving logistics system, developed in collaboration with Trascar, a leader in industrial automation.

For over 20 years, Trascar has partnered with Gargiulo & Maiello to optimize warehouse management and distribution processes. The journey began with the creation of a multi-level warehouse equipped with conveyors and elevators to handle traditional picking and logistics operations for perfumes.

Later, Trascar introduced a sorter system to enhance order management and streamline reverse logistics, essential for store distribution. This innovation significantly improved operational efficiency, increasing accuracy and reducing delivery times.

With the growth of its online business, IdeaBellezza benefited from additional logistics upgrades provided by Trascar. Technologies like Robot Rowa and miniload systems were implemented, boosting warehouse efficiency, particularly for single-item management. These systems, featuring central aisles and multi-level structures for inbound product handling, enabled faster and more precise e-commerce order preparation.

Automation extends beyond picking. The entire process—from carton formation to order closure and shipping—has been automated by Trascar. The latest addition is an overhead conveyor system that facilitates seamless product movement, including pallets, linking various technologies and serving up to ten shipping docks simultaneously.

This enduring partnership showcases how advanced logistics and automation can drive the growth of a leading beauty retailer, ensuring precision, speed, and customer satisfaction in every step of the supply chain.

A Fully Automated Logistics Hub: IdeaBellezza’s Key to Excellence

The integration of advanced technologies has transformed IdeaBellezza’s logistics center into a fully automated facility. This innovation not only significantly improved working conditions for employees but also enhanced delivery accuracy and service punctuality—essential factors for ensuring an exceptional customer experience, both in physical stores and online.

“Through teamwork and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, IdeaBellezza has become a benchmark of excellence in the distribution of perfumes and beauty products,” says Luca Verucchi, Sales Manager at Trascar S.p.A. “This demonstrates how logistics innovation can be a critical driver of growth and success in an increasingly competitive market, helping the company expand its presence in both e-commerce and traditional retail channels. Thanks to their trust, we’ve grown together over the years.”

By automating its logistics processes, IdeaBellezza has positioned itself at the forefront of the beauty industry, showcasing how operational efficiency and technological advancement can pave the way for sustainable growth and market leadership.
